I recently stayed at a fantastic hotel in Japan that completely exceeded my expectations. First of all, the hotel was excellent value for money, especially when considering the all-you-can-eat dinner and breakfast that were included in the price. Secondly, the attention to detail was impeccable. From the top floor balcony with chairs that provided stunning views, to the spacious and comfortable room that easily accommodated our family of three, every aspect of the hotel was designed with comfort in mind. Lastly, the location was perfect, being close to the Tobu-Nikko station, making it convenient for exploring the surrounding area. I was truly impressed with the service and the staff who were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The basic amenities were also of a high standard, with deep bathtubs in the rooms and a variety of baths in the onsen section. The breakfast buffet was delicious and offered a wide range of options to suit everyone's preferences.
No improvement needed.

Guests can enjoy the private onsen or relax in the multiple indoor and outdoor baths. Other facilities include a store, ping pong rooms, arcade, and coffee cafe.
One guest mentioned the exterior of the building needing to be refreshed.

The outdoor onsen was nice and the massage was relaxing. The view from the balcony was pretty and the buffet breakfast was filling. the hotel was located near several tourist attractions and there was a convenience store nearby.
Sadly, the hotel was not up to par with our expectations. The building was in serious disrepair and the smell of smoke on a non-smoking floor was overwhelming.

The food was decent and there were a lot of options. the location was convenient, close to the train station and shops. the hot springs were enjoyable and relaxing.
The room was old and had a musty smell, which was not pleasant. the staff was unhelpful and seemed more interested in speaking amongst themselves than assisting guests.

Almost perfect.

One of the highlights of this hotel is its attention to detail. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure that guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. For example, they offer in-room massages, facials, and foot work, allowing guests to indulge in ultimate relaxation without even having to leave their room. This level of service truly sets this hotel apart.
There were no major issues with the hotel; everything was satisfactory.

The attention to detail was outstanding, with a wide range of amenities provided. The staff were excellent, providing attentive service throughout my stay. The location of the hotel was also very convenient, just a short distance from the Tobu-Nikko station.
Everything was simply perfect.
